Hi Dan,

Hitachi Data Ingestor (HDI) is a high-performance file caching appliance in the Hitachi Content Platform (HCP) portfolio.

It copies user files to HCP for protection, and eventually stubs them out locally per customer's life-cycle policy.

They remain visible in users' file systems and HDI will retrieve them transparently on demand.

This saves space on the local HDI for the newest files which typically account for the bulk of access.

A customer can also push content to the HDI from HCP.

For instance, they could push and maintain price lists at all their remote offices or stores.

Combining with HCP Anywhere for secure remote file access and sharing really maximizes the value in an enterprise's unstructured data.

Cheers,

Chris
