Hi guys ,

 

I need asnwer about some question .

1 . What is a prerequisite for using RAID Manager ? ( License or Command Device ? ) .

2 .Which component in the VSP Gx00 series provides the CFM and the cache with power In case of power outage ? ( PS module / Cache module / power module / backup module )

Hello

 

I'm not sure what you mean with CFM. But using the Administrator Rest API. you can quite easily get the hardware health data.

 

As for question 1. A command device is reccomended if you'll be doing lots of transactions/queries, or if you plan on pulling lots of data.

If however you just want to run a query or two, you can just install raidcom and then point it to the controller IP(NOT SVP IP) of the array.

You can also login on the controller via ssh on port 20522 and then have raidcom available there.

The systems contain batteries for backing up cache to CFMs during a power outage. The batteries reside in the "Backup Modules" or "BKMF" on the Gx00s.
