 Do HUR JRNL volumes require their own pool?

It used to be you could only build JRNL volumes directly off parity groups. But it seems like a few years back you could build them from a pool. But I don't remember if they had their own pool definition, or if you could create them from a normal DP pool. Also, if just normal DP Pool, does it have to be dedicated to JRNL volumes?

You can create JNL volumes from the dame DP pool as other virtual volumes. You can create them from a DP pool and make them a journal volume.

Although this is supported, it is not best practice. If your pool fails your journals will also fail and you may prefer for journals to continue to operate to reduce your RPO. If you do share a pool, it is best practice to make the journal volumes fully allocated so they are not over subscribed. Note that fully allocated is not supported if your are using Accelerated Compression
