In previous version we had used to place shims files for "cdh514" folder inside "plugins/pentaho-big-data-plugin/hadoop-configurations" and use "Hadoop configurations" menu to choose appropiated cluster connection.
By now, the new Apache Karaf (.kar files) developed by Pentaho comes with bundled CDH61. Where I can find appropiated Karaf driver for CDH514? or which instruction steps are required for repackage corresponding shim files into new format driver?

As of 8.3 version, CDH 5.14 was the minimum version accepted (check here), for the 9.0 it's the 6.1 (check here).
I think that if you use CDH 5.14 you shouldn't upgrade.
