 Unable to Delete a Namespace for HCP

Hi Guys,

we just replicated some tenants and namespaces to a new HCP platform and deleted all existing objects on the old HCP platform.

But we are not able to delete the empty namespaces.

The KB https://knowledge.hitachivantara.com/Knowledge/Storage/Content_Platform/Unable_to_Delete_a_Namespace_for_HCP didn't solve the problem.

Both affected tenants were replicating from hcp01 to hcp02 and are now running on hcp03 und hcp04.

We stopped the replication between hcp01 and hcp02, deleted all files and folders, changed the necessary settings and started GC several times manually. No objects listed anymore, except the .lost+found folder.

But the delete Button doesn't appear.

Any new created namespace is deletable.

Did we overlook anything?

were there any versions for objects? If so, then you need to set version pruning to 0 and then run GC again.

Hi Jon, versioning was disabled but we enabled it to set pruning to 0 and run GC several times.

Nothing changed

All Tenants/Namespaces were created on HCP v7 and are now running on v8.

Suggest you open a case with GSC. Download logs before you do so.

One thing that article does not mention is changing the Garbage Collector setting to 0.   This is for the deletion records that might be on the namespace.  For instance in the HCP SMC,

You will have to set this value to 0 and then run GC.

BUT BEWARE!!!!   This is a system wide setting.  If you need to keep delete history for other namespaces, you MUST NOT do this part. 

Then you will have to contact service to investigate and perhaps remove the namespace by other means.
