 how do i upgrade Analytics Advisor virtual appliance?

The HIAA Installation and Config Guide for 4.2 has exactly this much to say about it:

"This upgrade cannot be performed by deploying the OVA file for virtual appliances.

Perform the upgrade by using the installer even if a new installation was performed by

deploying the OVA file for virtual appliances."

Anyone done this or know what the steps actually are?  The above description is inadequate, at least for me.

Shushant pointed to the answer without quite saying it.

One upgrades the virtual appliances just like any other Linux host.  So the install ISO needs to be connected to the VM as a virtual device, Linux needs to mount it, and the upgrade is done as on any Linux OS.
