Hello Javier,
To configure GAD on VSP systems, you need 5 ports on each storage
MCU --> 1 port
RCU --> 1 port
Quorum --> 1 port
CMD --> 1 port
PVol --> 1 port ( since this port/HG will reside in a VSM)
Since you already have Quorum volume presented to the GAD (Primary and Secondary) storage, I'm assuming Remote Connections are in place.
The next step will be as below and best done using Administrator.
- Add that disk presented for Quorum under Quorum disks. Ensure path groups is same for both the storages.
- Create VSM and add both the E590 to it.
- Reserve a few volumes, HG as per your requirement.
- Create new volumes (ensure selecting VSM instead of meta resource) and map them to the HG also belonging to the VSM.
Next will be creating GAD pairs using Protector, giving you more flexibility and functionality.

Subject: Configuración de GAD
Hello everyone,
Can someone guide me on how to configure GAD.
I have 2 VSP E590 with the following characteristics:
I have a cluster in VMWARE where 1 VM was deployed to comply with the Quorum function and ISCSI ports were used.
In the quorum, a volume is already configured and presented to the VSPs.
From here is it configuration from Ops Administrator or is there any other configuration to do?
If you have any guide to carrying out a GAD, I would appreciate it.
Regards,
