In Pentaho 9.1 version, how we can we upgrade Tomcat latest version?
The simplest approach may be to install Tomcat (whatever version you want) and then try installing Pentaho on top of it--I'm not at all sure that Pentaho has instructions for this type of manual install. You're likely to run into incompatibilities between the versions of JAR files the latest Tomcat release includes and the versions Pentaho 9.1 requires (different package structures and class names are the kind of thing we've seen). Although we have some custom code that we sometimes have to adapt for the latest Tomcat/Pentaho versions. We've never tried to install or upgrade Tomcat independently of the Pentaho install/upgrade, so I can only guess that you'd run into a number of compatibility issues.
I don't know that you'd find that it is worth the hassles.
Thanks for the details provided.
Yes, we tried by updating Tomcat 10.1.7 in Pentaho 9.1. However, it has not worked. We need this as Tomcat 8.5 is vulnerable. So, can we assume like, only while Pentaho itself upgrades the Tomcat version to 10 in its bundle, we may find a solution to this vulnerability, right? or is there any alternative provision to solve this? Please suggest.
which vulnerability is problem for you? Latest Tomcat v8.5.87 has released 3.3.2023.
Tomcat v10 required JDK 11, IMHO this is a problem. You can try migrate to v9.5, which is bundled in Pentaho v9.4.
