HI Phillip
If the remote server is windows the default is to put it into c:\Users\{user-running-the-server-process}\.kettle and on LInux its /home/{user-running-the-server-process}/.kettle
But the location can be set using the KETTLE_HOME variable. Check if it is being set in the user's environment variables or in the pentaho-start.bat (or pentaho-start.sh on Linux)

Subject: kettle properties - serverside
Hello
I'm trying to find the server install directory for kettle propertieswhich I believe is needed to define variables for the remote process
I don't think I have the right access, my guess is that they are using a specific 'pentaho' user but I can't tell
Our local one is installed in D:\Users\userid\.kettle
Would you let me know
Cheers
Philip
