    Hello,

IHAC who using Openstack Train for internal private cloud environment and using F700 as backend storage, now they need to validate the connectivity and functionality for VSP One(B28). some questions raised accordingly:

    1. The latest VSP one is not in the official interoperability list of Openstack,  is there any plan to support this model ?

    1. Which HBSD driver should be used if we take the validation? HBSD 9.0.0 provided by HV or community driver provided by Openstack (https://docs.openstack.org/cinder/latest/configuration/block-storage/drivers/hitachi-vsp-driver.html) ?
    2. If we have to use the community driver, we need follow the connection guide provided by Opentsack community ?
    3. Any reference for Openstack Train(or other newer version) + VSP One ?

BTW, is there any tool can be downloaded to decode the raw performance data of VSP One, just like the "RaidPerform" tool ?

     Appreciate for any help.

    Thanks.

    Simon

    Hello Zhongcheng Yuan

    1. I'll ping you the PM privately so you can find out what the roadmap is. Right now there is no support for Block 20 arrays.
    2. Which HBSD driver should be used if we take the validation? Use the in-tree driver that should be in the OpenStack install. Which version are they running?
    3. Yes, there are a couple.
      1. You can use Ops Center. Ops Center Analyzer does all the analytics. It also has a Grafana plugin which might be useful.
      2. There is also something called an Export tool(Export Tool for Enterprise, Export Tool 2 for E/G series and lastly Export Tool 2+ for B20 series), which you can dump controller performance data. You can get this on the microcode section under (Customer Tools CD) typically.
      3. For the G/F/E series you can also login to the controller and add /system-monitor to the url bar. Which will also show you live stats if I'm not mistaken.

    Thanks, William.

The version customer using is Openstack Train. We will try the in-tree driver to connect VSP One and follow exactly the guide which OpenStack offered.

For the roadmap, I will check with local PM first, thanks for your reminder.

And we found a tool like Raidperform for VSP One, thanks.

    Regards,

    Simon
