The purpose of the Community Pioneer award is to recognize HDS employee-advocates within the HDS Community who are building meaningful relationships with our customers. The Pioneer award is designed to drive employee participation, engagement and knowledge transfer. Pioneers are nominated by fellow employees and the final decision is made by the Communities Steering Committee, and is based on a review of the business outcomes, nominee's expertise and quality of their contributions,
Demonstrating the Hitachi Spirit of Kaitakusha-seishin, Michael is an early adopter of the community and has demonstrated thought leadership every step of the way. Every member of his organization has been inspired and motivated to participate in the community.
Michael Hay for those who haven't had the privilege to meet him, is the Chief Technology Officer and Vice President of Product Planning and Chief Engineer at the Information Technology Platform Division (ITPD). As his bio states, Michael "leads a global team of thinkers that contemplate and help enact the future of Hitachi’s expanding IT portfolio." In this role, and through his many community activities, including WebTech and Office Hours events, our prospects, customers and partners have direct access to a key executive at HDS.
Michael engages a variety of R&D teams, using a clear understanding of customer and market requirements, to guide direction and inspire innovation. Previously Michael was on long term assignment in Japan where he served in several roles with a focus divining and ideally realizing long term directions. He promotes "One Hitachi" through innovation, open dialog and information sharing.
Michael is present and visible in the community, having completed his profile, photo, biography and expertise. He is connected to several hundred followers and those he follows as well. He has authored or participated in well over 85 documents and discussions. He shares his expertise through blogging, podcasts and videos.
Manju Ramanathpura is a CTO and member of Hitachi Data Systems’ Office of Technology & Planning team. He works closely with strategic clients, research communities, open source communities and various Hitachi internal organizations to drive continuous innovation. Before joining HDS, he worked in a product management role with Cisco Systems Inc., for several products including Wireless LAN Controllers, Catalyst 6500 and its Network Services portfolio, Services Ready Engine and Application eXtension Platform for Cisco ISR.
His expertise includes Cloud management, infrastructure, networking, SDDC, SDN, and Performance Monitoring. Manju has achieved Level 5 in the community and 1,420 points! In addition, Manju is a community moderator, identified by a badge that signifies his role to ensure questions are answered in a timely manner, and provide feedback to the communities team related to design, structure, policy and content.
Manju can be found engaging and assisting users in many areas of the community. He directs HDS employees to information back in theLoop on Open Stack. He always updates his status, talking about what's relevant NOW at HDS and industry wide. He truly breaks down silos by demonstrating cross-functional collaboration. He initiates discussions and helps to answer users' navigation and feature/function questions about the Community itself.
In addition to being a community Pioneer, Manju also carves out time from his busy schedule to volunteer as a community moderator, doing what he does best, answering questions and identifying potential issues.
For their contributions, Michael and Manju are awarded the Pioneer badge and 1,000 reputation points in the community, a Night on the Town, a feature story in theLoop, the Community and Signal Weekly. And last, but not least, the gratitude and esteem of their colleagues.
