Digital badges from Hitachi Vantara allow you to share your achievements or contributions and communicate about your skills and abilities. They provide a convenient yet formal and official means of authenticating your professional accomplishments.
Digital badges are images that can be shared on any digital platform: they can be posted on social media, sent in email signatures, or included in digital documents. Clicking on a badge displays verified information, which typically includes:
- The identification of the issuer – which organization issued and granted the badge.
- The validity dates – when the badge was earned and its validity period.
- What has been validated – knowledge, skills, accomplishments, and so forth.
- The criteria to be met – how is the badge obtained.
Certification Exam Development Process
Hitachi Vantara certification-level exams are exclusively developed and maintained by field personnel who have real-life experience with the products and solutions covered by the exams.
Acting as subject matter experts (SMEs) representative of the targeted audience, they first define the scope and overall content of the exam and help create the exam blueprint through the Job Task Analysis (JTA) process. They then use their technical expertise and practical experiences to develop the exam questions in a 4 or 5-day face-to-face workshop. As part of this workshop, an iterative validation process is used to review, correct and adjust the questions ensuring they are relevant, technically correct and of the appropriate difficulty.
Exam Developer Badges
Since its introduction in 2006, many HDS and Hitachi Vantara colleagues and partners have worked with the Certification Program Office to develop and maintain the Hitachi Vantara Certified Professional Program exams.
We are now offering an official Exam Developer badge to recognize the active contribution of SMEs who worked on certification-level exams. This badge is awarded to exam development participants in acknowledgment of the significant efforts and challenging work they need to provide to create (or maintain) exams. The badge also recognizes the collaborative spirit and the display of Hitachi values that such workshops demand.
Badge samples are shown below, the number of red stars indicating the number of participations with one star per workshop (five stars = five or more workshops).

How Do I Extract A Badge?
To get a copy of a badge that includes its link, for instance for adding to an email signature.
In CertMetrics, under the BADGES page:
- Click the Email Signature link at the top left, under the main menu bar.
- Under Create Email Signature, select a badge.
- Under Signature Preview, select the badge (logo) size.
- Enter your email address, and click the Email My Signature button.
An email will be sent, including the badge and instructions on how to create an email signature with it.
Regardless of the email signature instructions, the badge can be copied from that email and pasted into any application. It will retain its URL, so when shared with someone the recipient will be able to click on it and see all the details.
