How The NAB Show 2015 changed history for Global Broadcasters

Blog Post created by Shane Archiquette Employee on Apr 20, 2015

The NAB Show was held from April 11-16, 2015 and marked the direction for the foreseeable future that all the broadcasters in the world will eventually change to adopting the key themes of the NAB Show in their production:

Overall Show theme: Crave More

2015 NAB Show Theme Video - Crave More - YouTube

The move to 4k content creation and distribution

Cloud based content distribution and broadcast

Aerial Videography/Aerial Camera Drones/Drone Broadcast

Mobile and Fixed Broadband time-shifted video consumption 50% plus

Software defined workflow delivered 'Glass to Glass' via IP (Internet Protocol)

These themes area a tell tail sign that the move to consumer driven high resolution content viewable at their time and leisure is the experience that is driving this dramatic shift that is shaking the entire M&E  industry towards IT centric architectures that HDS is well suited to take advantage of with our rock solid HCP, UCP, and sophisticated solutions that have the right sized speed and performance that the M&E industry demands.

HDS had one of the most impressive and largest exhibition booths we have ever had at the NAB Show as we joined forces with Hitachi Kokusai Cameras, Hitachi Solutions Transcoder solutions and a large amount of partners such  as Adobe, Scale-Logic, and V-Nova who won Best of Show for new TV Technology (one of only 7 out of over 1800 exhibitors!!)

Broadcasters require real-time infrastructures that have previously been delivered through 'linear' means for decades and are dependent upon those systems working 24x7 in an environment with no downtime and very fast response times.  Sound familiar?  These are the same constructs that many of the HDS traditional IT customers require and how they have come to know HDS as an Innovator and a long term partner in their companies success factors.  The same will hold true for Broadcasters running their content creation, preparation/packaging, and delivery/broadcast on a complete end-to-end Hitachi and HDS solution workflow.

As we move at a rapid pace in this Fiscal Year 15, I am excited to see HDS come through as a front runner and thought leader in the M&E Industry that our customers, partners, and CME Team has helped to create over the past 4 years.

Happy Selling!!
