Demonstrating Our Object Storage Commitment

Blog Post created by Tim Desai Employee on Sep 12, 2014

The Next Generation Storage Summit takes place next Tuesday and Wednesday in Chicago.  This is the second time that HDS has sponsored this event, which is known as the only object
storage focused industry conference.  It’s exciting for a number of reasons.  First is the opportunity to present to the attendees (customers, press, analysts) about the very successful Mobility themed HCP portfolio launch that occurred in June.  We’ll also be participating in one-on-one conversations with the leading analysts covering object storage to review our recent launch success in more detail and update them about how we’ll build on that momentum in upcoming launches.

Another reason why we’re excited about the conference is the opportunity to demonstrate our deep commitment to our object storage strategy.  The first meeting of the Object Storage Alliance (OSA) - for which HDS is a founding member - will occur on Tuesday. The purpose of the Alliance is to promote the business value of object storage.  Many customers are confused by the technology and terminology associated with object storage.  The OSA seeks to help customers understand what object storage is, and how it can solve their problems.

We view the conference and the founding of the Object Storage Alliance as excellent examples of how HDS is continuing to invest in and build on its innovation leadership.
