The Digital Telecom in 2018

Blog Post created by Shane Archiquette Employee on Apr 3, 2018

Telecommunications Operators are undergoing significant change in their operations and services to their end-user customers and how they monetize different forms of value-added service offerings beyond rate-plans and retail outlets for consumer and fixed-broadband and voice services for businesses.  The advent of 5g networking with 1Gbps to mobile devices and much higher in fixed 5g broadband (10Gbps to 15Gbps average) coupled with Low-Power Wide Area (LPWA) networking provide the combined backbone of next-generation connectivity and communication, unlike anything we have experienced to date.  The more interesting factor is the Digital Services that will be enabled on the network infrastructure such as low latency multi-channel video streaming, digital voice services, hyper-localized app-driven smart services, distributed edge cloud services, and ultimately a better Quality-of-Experience.  The 'Digital Telecom' will be the next business model for the role of the Telecom Operator to transition to the Digital Services Provider in each and every country around the world.

Hitachi Vantara's advanced IoT, Analytics, Smart Spaces, Frameworks, and Ecosystems are powering the Digital Telecom to enable the most dynamic and adaptive services across B2C, B2B, and B2G routes to market and helping to increase bottom-line revenue and bottom-line society advantages.  The new business models that are being enabled by Hitachi Vantara's solutions and services will exponentially increase the Telecom's Potential as a formidable services provider in the new markets of Digital Experience.
