Use HCP Anywhere for the laptop/desktop file protection. HCP Anywhere would store data in HCP. HCP can tier data to public cloud. Or speak with the HCP Anywhere product management team to see if there are other architectures that could work.

The HCP general nodes (e.g. G10) already distribute objects across HCP S-Series nodes, so adding a load balancer would complicate things unnecessarily. Do not put a load balancer between HCP general nodes and the HCP S-Series nodes. That is not a tested configuration. It would not be supported.

James - what HCP version are you running? Can you connect with your Hitachi Vantara account team to discuss further? I have a hunch that there might be a workaround of disabling XSS Security, which would require the account team to get involved.

Yes, ECC memory is supported. You should only use the memory modules that Hitachi Vantara provides with the HCP system and HCP system upgrades. As of v8.1.2 in April 2019 the shipping memory module with the HCP G10 is Quanta ATR5XAGR505. This corresponds to Samsung M393A4K40CB1-CRC4Q. This is an ECC ...

Without the HCP Acceleration Option, the object number maximum is 800 million (not thousand) per node. With the HCP Acceleration Option the maximum is 1.25 billion objects per node. As you add more objects HCP services (e.g. Garbage Collection, Content Validation) take longer. When exceeding these limits, ...
