DP Pool expansion concern

Hello,

I'm getting ready to expand our DP Pool on our HUS130. HDS just installed a new tray of (24) 1.2TB SAS/10K disks. I would like to add these 24 disks to our existing pool:

DP RAID GroupTierDrive Type/ RPMDrive sizeRAID LevelCapacity
652ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
662ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
672ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
682ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
692ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
702ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
712ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
722ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
732ndSAS/10K900GBRAID6(6D+2P)4.7TB
741stSSD400GBRAID5(6D+1P)2.0TB

I was thinking of adding 2 more DP RAID Groups (64 and 63) with RAID6(9D+2P) into the 2nd tier. This would leave me with 2 hot spares. The new 1.2TB disks are the same RPM as the 2nd tier, but I have some concern mixing the (6D+2P) with (9D+2P) DP raid groups. Am I being overly cautious or does this seem okay?

Thank you,

Ed
