Can a 3090 SMU run as a VM? They made that change for the 4100 servers but didn’t know if it could be done for the 3090.
Please see the Release Notes for SMU version 12.6: https://download.hds.com/download/epc/rn-92hnas029-03.pdf. See section SMU, server, and cluster compatibility.
I can't find an external document that describes the support matrix for virtual SMU 2.2. The internal ECN, however, says it supports SMU running "12.5.4038.04 or newer software".
Not yet. It is still the traditional SMU.
What level code is running on your 3090 nodes? The latest vSMU running SMU code 12.6 supports the following HNAS codes: 12.6 -> 12.0, 11.x, 10.2, and 8.2.
Thank you, Dang,
The running code is 12.4.3924.14. Can you point me to where this is documented?
You can run a virtual SMU, but there are limitations. You cluster cannot have more than two nodes.
SMU is software dependent, and 30x0 series supports ver 12.x and higher. So I dont see any issues.
Just that HDS should be able to support you.
