Saw the following RAID LEVEL -> RAID 1 (2D+2D) in my current pool configuration on my VSP200, how is it different from a RAID 10 (2D+2D) ?
On the VSP Gx00 series, RAID 1 is actually RAID 10. It is a stripe of mirrors. This is also true on other HDS arrays like VSP, VSP G1000, HUS-VM, and older enterprise arrays.
The exceptions are mid-range arrays like the HUS and AMS where RAID 1 and RAID 10 are separate, configurable options.
RAID 10 (2D+2D) for mirroring, It provides good read and write performance and it has two pairs of data drives in a mirrored configuration, despite of data drive capacity
