Can we decrease the quota on virtual volume in HNAS on the fly??Thrinath Seelam
Hello Deepak Kumar Gupta
Yes you can change the quota at any time.
But the care that has to be take when you are decreasing the quota is ; make sure its not below the actual used space.
It will stop writes once the quota is less than actual used space.
V-Vol quota is 10GB
Used space is 6GB
You may reduce to any extent to 4 GB ot 8GB
When its reduced 4GB it will allow reads but not writes
When its reduced to 8GB it will allow reads and writes
thanks a lot for the response.
We decreased the quota, but still the same size is reflecting at Linux end. Is there anything like OS sud support volume shrink feature ...need your inputs.
Un-mount and mount the export should help see the exact size
Let us know once you try this
We have tried, but same result.
