Silly question, Is there a way to just open up the HCI search interface to the "public"?
Example: I have a bunch of docs that I want to make searchable on our internal/employee network. Is there a way to just disable/remove login for search?
HCI has no "local" accounts other than "admin". You could go the HDS IT route, which I understand and sympathize. You could set up a small LDAP server, create a well known account, and publish the creds on the Search Console's Welcome box.
I presume you are referring to the HCI Search Console. If so I believe the answer is no. Not sure about the query API. If it requires and auth token then the answer is no all the way around.
Thanks. So the workaround is either to either enable SSO with HDS IT (dear god... no... ) or to just create some kind of guest account.
Understood. We do have a lab AD, so I was thinking about creating the "guest" account there.
Sure. You will need to be sure to direct users to use "Security Realm == YOUR AD" when the login on the console.
