is there a way to hide the initial search output screen?
What I believe you may be asking for is the ability to "disable" an index from being searchable until you are ready to allow others to see it. That functionality can be done by disabling the Public Query Setting on the Index shown in the screenshot above.
Once you have properly configured the index, you can re-enable the Public Query Setting and it will be visible again. Alternatively, if you'd like to make that index visible to only a subset of users, you can connect your HCI cluster to an Identify Provider and create groups and roles allowing only certain groups access to that index.
If that's not the functionality you are looking for, can you provide more context on what your use case is?
You want a search screen with no output, just empty fields? So no default query executed?
Thank you ..
did so.. and Hided the default query . but even i logged to search api as Admin, the search did not generated a result. and ideas?
The Public query setting being disabled prevents all users from being able to search that index. You can however create an additional query setting tying a group with that query setting. To do this you will need to first connect to an Identity Provider and define some roles for a group.
You can find additional information in the searchable help within the product itself. It's linked from the right hand side question mark in the UI. There you can find more information on each the topics I've stated above.
Along the lines of the index security I have include a link that discusses HCI security and pasted the part refering to the index.
Enabling Data security is a two part process
First enable security on the index
Workflows →Indexes→ Example Index →Query Settings
Create a Query setting and then you will be able to enforcesecurity on this index, under the access control by changing it to enforcedocument security yes. Once this issaved you must enable it and disable the public. Once we have applied security to the index wewill need to grant our end user groups/roles access to that index.
Link Index to the roles
So go back to SystemConfiguration →Security Groups and choose your group and edit you will seean option for indexes, assign the index to the appropriate roles. At this point in time you should be able tolog into the search screen, and see the data assigned/ restricted asappropriate.
