Are there any problems trying to build a plugin based on JVM compatible language like jython or Scala for HCI?
Any JVM-based language should work for developing HCI plugins. Some users have already been building plugins with other JVM-based languages, as Jason pointed out.
There are two things to keep in mind:
1. Make sure that your plugin properly adheres to the ConnectorPlugin or StagePlugin interface
2. Your plugin will need to be built as a fat jar with all of its dependencies included (with the exception of the HCI plugin SDK, which should be a compile-time only dependency).
Ben has written a great blog post on plugin development with additional advice here:
HCI Plugins: Introduction and Quick Start Guide
Hope this helps,
We've used Scala with great success and use it for all our plugins.
