Howdy,

I'm new to HDS with IBM AIX environment as I've come from a pure IBM shop that had ESS with IBM AIX.

They had a thing called SDD PCM- Subsystem Device Driver Path Control Module (SDDPCM) that got rid of vpaths so the OS would only see hdisks which was alot easier to manage.... this also meant that we could SAN boot and 'truecopy' (ibm PPRC) our boot disks to our DR site.

When if ever will we see the same functionality from the HDS driver? Will we also ever see the HDLM in a proper AIX installable package instead of a CPIO package???
The storage guys at this place spoke to the HDS people and said we would see it late this year. We haven't heard about it since so one wonders if anything will be released at all. IBM has had this functionality for years!
