We are running PDI Spoon version 3.2.0, and are looking to move to Oracle 12.2. Has anyone else had success with that combination?
* I understand we are WAYYY behind but but it is what it is, for now.
I think that the "possible problem" could be the java version of Pentaho 3.2.0 and the java version for the oracle driver.
Which JAVA-Version is your pentaho 3.2.0 running?
There is an JDBC-driver for oracle 12 and jdk 6 available, so depending on you're version it should work.
If there is no JDBC-driver for your stack-version available, how you worked it out. I guess it could be interesting for other users.
PDI 3.2.0 is really an old version. It has not been tested with Oracle 12c R1 or R2 in our lab (Converged Solutions Engineering).
Usually the jdbc driver from the Oracle database server works best for Pentaho. However in this particular case, the jdbc driver might not work with an old version of java, the one loaded on PDI server.
If it’s not for production environment, or just for testing purpose, user can try the jdbc driver from the Oracle server 12.2 server on PDI server 3.2.0. The location of Oracle jdbc driver is $ORACLE_HOME/jdbc/lib/.
Hope this helps.
