A situation arose last week where we were asked about the feasability of stopping a shadowimage resync that was in progress. As none of us had ever done this before, a spot of RTM was undertaken, but in the end none of us could be definite. We assumed that issuing a split would do the trick, but as assumption is the mother of all cockups and we could not find a definitive answer in the manual, we declined to attempt the process as we could not guarantee the risk.
So, my question is, how do you stop a resync with immediate effect? And can I presume that if this is possible, issuing a resync again will put things back on track? I appreciate the data on the secondary volume will be unusable, but if we need to do this again for performance reasons then it would be most useful.
Many thanks for any help
