Would like to clarify whether the performance data we see on USP reflects the entire i/o chain from the host to the storage subsystem or does it indicate within the storage.
for example if i see LDEV data which says 100 IOPS with a 10ms response time, does it mean from the host to the storage subsystem ? when we say within the subsystem only, what part of storage chain is covered, meaning from cache to back end to disk etc.
and when i am looking at front-end port IOPS and response time, does this indicate the entire i/o chain from host.
we are needing to correlate the data between IOPS, response time seen on the host level to what is being on the storage array. Any suggestions on this would greatly help.
