Is there anyone out there using or at least evaluating HiCommand Replication Manager 6.0 ?
I tested it out and here are my comments :-
A. It is a real pain to setup. Took me a week to get it working. You need Device Manager agent 6.0.0-04 for it to work without any bugs. The HDvM and HRpM agents are bundled into the same install.
B. Once setup it is a breeze to resync and split pairs from the GUI. However what I would like is a more granular permission level in terms of allowing the OS Admins to only split and resync and the SAN Admins to reverse, create etc.
C. The create PAIR wizard is more involved though. You need to setup logical groups in HDvM for the P-VOLs and S-VOLs and also setup the local and remote JGs in Storage Navigator. Have posted a presentation on how to create PAIRs with replication manager at this URL
