I have a USP V and a Clariion that I am mucking about with. I have 4 ports on the USP V and 4 ports on the Clariion. The doco always talks about cross subsystem paths but as per usual, it confuses me more than helps me.
The Clariion has x LDEV's (for want of a better word) on SPA and y LDEV's on SPB. When I virtualise the Clariion, the LUNs (seen by the USP V) on SPA will always have a pathing priority over SPB as I can't figure out how to assign the LUN's on SPB with a higher priority.
CL1-A <=> SPA0
CL1-E <=> SPA1
CL2-A <=> SPB0
CL2-E <=> SPB1
I have some doco that talks about creating a second Path Group so that the LUN's on SPB can have a different priority but there does not seem to be a way of manually creating a second Path Group.
Any LUN on SPB will have a Cross-subsystem priority path of CL1-A, CL1-E and then CL2-A.
Any ideas on this? Have I missed something?
