My understanding is using consistency groups for TrueCopy synchronous pairs (using the "-fg" option in paircreate) will maintain data consistency when CCI operations (such as a pair split operation) are issued against the group - rather than update consistency to the s-vol during normal operation like consistency groups for async TC would.
So if a pairsplit was issued to a group defined as a consistency group and one volume was still completing an I/O, it would allow that to complete before splitting the entire group. Is that right?
If so, I presume I should definitely be setting this for any Oracle ASM disk groups using TC sync rep? Could anyone advise on how they best split these consistency groups up? - i.e does everyday ASM disk group for each DB have its own consistency group (CTG) or does just each DB have its own CTG or maybe even just one big CTG for all ASM LUNs?
Thanks in advance!
