We have some LUNs on AMS 2500 that are virtualized on VSP and then presented to host.
Is it possible to incise the size of virtualized LUN ( on AMS) online ?
I think the answer is no, but I wanted to double check.
how ar ethey virtualised? through a DP Pool?
Yes, they are in DP.
Growing the AMS lun on the backend is not supported if I remember correctly.
Are the AMS LUNs in DP Pools? Or are the VSP Virtualized/ eLUNs added to the pool?
If the VSP is hosting the DP Pool from Virtualized AMS LUNs, best is to add a new AMS LUN to the VSP Pool.
Best practice AFAIK is not to virtualise both, ie, direct LUNS off RGs to to the VSP then DP Pool on the VSP. Then as Shawn said, just create more LUNs on the AMS and add them to your VSP Pool. Incidentally, what's everyone's take on the AMS configuration for this? If SASI've always done two LUNs per RG to present to the VSP to balance across the processors
DP is only on AMS, Then LUNs from this DP are virtualised on VSP and then directly presented to host. But it looks like growing LUNs in this scenario is not possible. It's ok I just needed to double check.
