VMware Metrocluster / HA without downtime

Has anyone been faced with questions for a VMware HA solution where there is no "cut" to the application when the storage in the primary datacenter is failing?

Netapp and HP have a metrocluster solution that allows the ESX hosts to stay up & running by failing over to the secondary storage by using metroclustering. This allows the ESX to swap storage without any downtime for the VM's running on it.

HDS does not have a similar solution with HUS100 and I was wondering what alternative you would suggest to counter the metrocluster approach?
