Just in from the SNIA front:
The SNIA Education Committee is calling for volunteers to join a Taskforce to research, define, and recommend the creation of an online storage networking ‘institute’.
The new education platform, which will take account of the emerging MOOC trends, will become the foundation of SNIA’s future educational methodology and delivery and provide universal access to a comprehensive storage education curriculum and consolidated study materials. The Taskforce already has a core of established contributors, and we are now looking for additional volunteer representatives from the end user, academic and vendor communities who have expertise in the field of IT education and certification to help us. The Taskforce intends to present its findings to the SNIA Board of Directors in October.
It is anticipated that the Taskforce will meet by conference call once every two weeks for no more than one hour. SNIA staff and contractors will provide all the logistics support.
If you have an interest in helping shape the future of independent storage education, or would like further information, please contact the SNIA Global Education Director, Paul Talbut at firstname.lastname@example.org.
This seems like something the HDS Academy my want to get plugged into.
