Major difference from 3090-G1/G2
The 4000 series has faster and better hardware, including newer FPGAs, CPUs, and more memory. The FC ports have been upgraded to 8Gb from 4Gb. The 5-port internal switch is gone. The 6-port 1GbE client ports have been replaced with 2x 10GbE SFP+ ports. There are a total of 4x 10GbE ports for client access now. The cluster interconnect ports are active/active instead of active/passive.
Here's a comparison table from the HDS website (http://www.hds.com/products/file-and-content/network-attached-storage/?WT.ac=us_mg_pro_hnasp).
