Does any know is it possible to disable HDT in HUS by disable Tiering Mode and move out SSD Raid Group from DP Pool and avold to do Volume Migrate from that DP? it's not mentioned in Dynamic Provisioning User Guide.
Thank you, by follow with GSC's action plan to upgrade Microcode revision to 0950/A and SNM2 to v25.00. the shrink function for HDP/HDT are available in SNM2 GUI for Target HUS Storage, and we was successfully removed 1st Tier from HDT non-distributive using following steps.
1. Make sure the DT Pool capacity minus the Target DP-RG capacity will not be over provisioning.
2, Disable "Auto Progress Mode" in DT Pool to avoid pages relocation happened.
3. Do DP Optimization for DP-VOLs belongs for DT Pool to reclaim capacity back to Pool
4. Following actions mentioned in Dynamic Provisioning User Guide to shrink DT Pool.

You cannot disable Tiering mode if there are multiple disk types in the pool, you would need to shrink the pool first by removing the SSD RG. Can you please provide some information on the structure of the pool? Number of tiers, etc?
Can SSD RG be removed from Pool directly without disable Tiering mode? I doesn't find it in the DP guide, could you help to point out which page let me can reference it, I have no idea how to do..
The HDT is only contain two tiers, tier-1 is 6D+2P SSD RG, and tier-2 are 11 of 2D+2M SAS RGs, totally with 12 of Volumes occupied 5.6TB in the pool.

It is possible to shrink a pool on the latest microcode, but I do not think you can remove the last RG of a tier..
I would strongly suggest opening a case with support to ask about the rules for shrinking a pool and at what code level it is advisable.

There is no rule about removing the last DP-RG of a tier, just the last DP-RG in general (since at that point it wouldn't be a pool). There are however a bunch of other conditions, which is why I asked about the structure. If you've got a support call going, we'll let them handle it.
I has open case to GSC, and your advise are also very important for me. The following is the DP Pool structure, I need to remove SSD RG from this DP Pool, and I want to using shrinking DP Pool function as you and Mark mentioned at previously, does it make sense?
