Someone asked me a question via a comment on one of my status updates. I wanted to refer to that Q&A in a new discussion post, but when I tried to @ mention it, the system would could not find it.
Is it possible to @ mention status updates?
I don't think you can @ mention a status update, but I found a workaround. You can share the status with yourself, and it will send you an email with a link to the status. Copy the link and paste it into the discussion. You can then click the link to open a popup, and choose the bottom option "auto-title."
From there you can edit the anchor text to whatever you want.
I'll add this to the community How do I? guide since it's not a very intuitive process.

You can right click the link and copy the URL. It works for any kind of posting.
When you past it into the RTE in a discussion it automatically converts it into the auto-title. But if you paste it into a comment it doesn't, e.g.,
I knew there had to be an easier way to get the link... I tried clicking on everything on my status BUT the "time ago" part. Thanks for pointing that out.
