We need to virtualize DS4000, however it gives error when VSP try to discover the LUNS.. DS4000 host type for VSP is set to Linux. It is reused LUN in DS4000, no host attached to it yet. Any modification need to be set at DS4000 apart of host type?
What error are you getting?
Do you have existing luns presented from the DS to the VSP?
Try to change the host type to LinuxAVT and make sure that the lun is added to the VSP host connection.
Have you changed the ports on the VSP to external and the Connection type to either FC-AL or P-to-P?
here is the error code 00622-105242
Host type in DS4000 = linux
VSP port zoned to DS4000 port = external
VSP port connect to SAN = P-to-P
Is this error displaying when the scan is in progress or after a external volume is selected?
Are you creating a new Pathgroup or using an existing one?
the error displayed when the scan is in progress. There is no pathgroup created previously, so it is new pathgroup
Have you installed a license key with sufficient capacity for Universal Volume Manager
we install temp lic for UVM which i think give unlimited capacity within 30days..
Did you add the VSP as a host on the DS4000 with the host type set to LinuxAVT ?
If yes reset the VSP external ports only on the switch and retry.
This should force the VSP initiators to relogin into the DS4000 targets.
