I have one Storage. Now been in an unbootable state.
AMS 200 (Tagma Store)
I try to initialize the microcode, but random system disc can not be found.
How can I do?
Officially Customers do not perform microcode upgrades or setup of the AMS 200. So it seems that someone did you a favor that they weren't supposed to.
The errors you are getting can indicate several problems. Someone may have removed the drives from the array and erased them. This will render the drives unusable. Each AMS drive has a firmware block which is written on the drive. If you remove the drive and attach it to a PC to "Erase" the drive, you are making it unusable in the array.
Another possibility is that someone installed the wrong microcode, the array has a invalid configuration, or is setup incorrectly.
A HDS CE is the only one authorized to perform a microcode install, or initial setup of the array. There are many possible missteps that you may perform if you do not perform things correctly. Customer installed microcode or customer initial setup would also lead to the array NOT being supported by HDS.
Please raise a support call with HDS. Is the product still under AMC?
The present situation is that my array is re-installed.
I use my AMS200 array re-established a new project.
Have now identified the need to reset the microcode.
My problem is that I can not get my original microprogram disc.
I need your support.
Thank you in advance!
What did you change to stop it booting? It is possible to force the microcode to boot a blank configuration without reloading it. If you post the end of the warning/messages from the web interface showing what causes the array to error out, we can tell you if this is a viable option.
AMS200 like this
RB8400 Download failed.
But now I have another problem.
When I initialize the microcode, the following message appears.
"Drive block size error at cdev 00".
And my hard drive is 400GB, FC.
Yep a reload is your only option. Just remember that 'initializing' the microcode is different from doing an initial microcode load. You need to do an initial code load through maintenance mode (not normal mode).
I went into maintenance mode to reload the microcode.
However, in case of error.
"Drive block size error at cdev 00"
what's wrong with it?
By the looks of it the array you're working on is not an AMS200, but a 9570!!!! I'd expect an error like this if you're trying to load AMS200 microcode on a 9570.
Also the 9750 didn't support 400GB drives, so I think you have a bad physical configuration....
No, this is not the same as you said.
I do have a AMS200.
I just use someone else's picture to illustrate the problem I have encountered in the process.
So, I'm sorry.
Then I checked the manual, AMS200 supports 400GB drivers...
As the problems I encountered.
Unless you provide accurate information we cannot try to assist you. Please provide screenshots of:
- The information message screen
- The actual error in maintenance mode screen
Make sure these are of the AMS200 array you're having problems with, not someone else's unit.
I'm sorry that I jump into your diksussion, but how do you do to get into the maintenance mode?
I have the same problem as you!
Thanks in advanced
I think my only real option is a initial microcode reload.
Customers don't have access to microcodes for any products, you need to contact your local HDS CE or a SSP.
I got there microcode from HDS engineers.
Microcode level is way to low to support the discs probably.
Please call our support organisation to help you out on this.
