Hi guys, can anyone please explain to me they types of disk shelfs supported for HUS100 and HUSVM systems? I know 4 of 'em:
Controller Chassis Box - CBX - This holds the SVP and controllers and its a 5U box
DBS - its a 2U form factor 24 drive tray for SFF only
DBL - its a 2U form factor 12 drive tray for LFF only
DBX - its a 4U form factor box with 48 drive tray for LFF only
There is also a plan for 5U box with 84 drive tray, but not sure of it.
So, they're 5 of 'em, not 9?
Here're the types of shelves:
Disk shelves are different from Controller shelves, Controller Shelves have the components such as cache, ASIC'c and internal drives (on certain models) etc, to control the entire operations of the storage box, whereas Drive box holds only drives, that has a backplane connected with a 6GBps SAS backend.
Controller box is also called as Base Units
Disk Box /shelves are also called as expansion units.
