HNAS 3080 G2 - Two system drives claim to be degraded

Question asked by Hagen Heiduck on May 20, 2015

Hi there,

we've got a somewhat strange behavior, that two system drives never pass over from "Degraded" to "OK" state, although the initial creation of the underlying volumes on a HUS150 storage has been finished, actually. sd-list states those system drives as degraded, which is apparently wrong:

unas-n2:$ sd-list --status degraded
Device  Status  Alw  GiByte  Mirror   In span                       Span Cap
------  ------  ---  ------  -------  ----------------------------  --------
  33    Degrad  Yes   16406   Pri     SP-REPLIC-SAS-7K2                49217
  34    Degrad  Yes   16406   Pri     SP-REPLIC-SAS-7K2                49217

The support staff assumes, it's because of the missing "HNAS option mode" on the HUS side, but I have some doubts, as all the other system drives state is correct (no HNAS option as well).

Both system drives are usable, so it presumably seems to be more a cosmetic issue.

Any ideas?

Hagen
