Could you please suggest how to consolidate all HORCM instances running on different servers into one single instances on 2 servers ,each server per site?
In my environment , we are having VMware SRM ,
Lets say you have
File 1 containing PVOL's
GROUP_A DEV_A 765479 10:01
GROUP_A DEV_B 765479 10:02
File 2 also containing PVOL's
GROUP_B DEV_A 765479 A0:01
GROUP_B DEV_B 765479 A0:02
And I'm assuming your requirement is to combine these two into a single file. This should be very simple, you just concatenate the group section.
File 3 therefore will look somewhat like this.
If the serial number of the storage is different, include both command devices in the CMD_DEV section.
HDS also resells a product named vfailover | HOME which is a replacement for SRM. You can buy this product via HDS atleast in EMEA. vFailover will automate the creation and update of HORCM files for you by discovering the LDEV's automatically via the vCenter.
The other option is to use GAD if you have G1000 arrays.
Thanks Biju. That is the solution in case of normal HORCM instances running, but as I said in my environment we have SRM. Also apart from this , we are having Geo Cluster where we are using multiple instances of HORCM running on different platforms such as SRM,Windows paltform & also on Unix environment(AIX). My intension is to consolidate all in single HORCM instance.
Thanks in advance.
I'm doubtful that SRM will work if its HORCM instances contain copy groups that aren't actually VMware related.
Thank you Dang. so do you find any solution for this infra. Have you came across such scenario.
I haven't came across a similar request. Typically, customers prefer to have separate HORCM instances because this method offers advantages such as extra flexibility, easier to troubleshoot, and easier to manage.
Thank You Dang.
