I am very new HNAS. I have few questions about hnas.
How to get alerts for file systems full?
How can we monitor shares growth?
What is CNS and its use?
- > HNAS has some feature for event notification.
You can see at GUI Home > Status & Monitoring menu.
and can define both Warning and Severe thresholds of filsystem at Home>Storage Management > File Systems > Filesystem Details.
-> You can check at 'File systems' and 'virtual volume & quota'
- > according to 'Server and Cluster administration guide'
A Cluster Name Space (CNS) allows multiple separate file systems on a
server to appear as subdirectories of a single logical file system (that is, as
one unified file system). They can also make multiple storage elements on
that server available to network clients through a single CIFS share or NFS
sometime it called as Single name Space. refer 'Server and Cluster administration guide' for more detail.
You can get daily reports by entering this command from the cli on the smu:
send-quota-report "enter email address here"
Hi Gyuhan Kim
Thank you for your reply.
I have two more queries.
1) What is the difference between EVS and CNS?
2) What is SMU?
Thank you again.
1) EVS (Enterprise Virtual Server) is a kind of VM for File Service.
Cluster Name Space (CNS) allows multiple separate file systems on a server to appear as subdirectories of a single
logical file system (that is, as one unified file system).
2) SMU (System Management Unit) is a management server. and SMU has a quorum role in cluster environments.
We can get information regarding HNAS server and modify settings.... using SMU
Thank You so much Gyuhan Kim.. I got idea now..
