No since both microcode not identical!! from hosts sides still you have to do a single reboot to detect the new LUN from G1000 after data migrated,

NDM is supported only from HDS system to HDS system. Although HP OEM's Hitachi hardware, they do have some preferences with the microcode settings.
So the only way you can do online migration in this scenario is if you use host based tools to do copy and cutover. If the servers are Unix/Linux based, then LVM can easily do the magic.
- Present new LUNs from G1000
- Mirror the volumes or plexes
- Disconnect the XP LUNs when mirroring is complete
- Unmap the XP LUNs
These steps are performed by the Unix administrator.
If you are ok with 1 reboot, then there is an additional option
- You could virtualize the XP array behind the G1000
- Then shutdown the host or the cluster
- Map the G1000 LUNs
- Start the cluster/host

i guess not supported from HDS system to HDS system overall portfolio storage's,
its only between VSP Gx000 series (g1000,g200,....etc)
NDM is based on the concept of VSM (Virtual Storage Machine). It is supported to create a VSM with identity and S/N of a XP24000 (USP V with HP flavour) on a VSP G1000.
Why shouldn´t it be possible to migrate a XP24K nondisruptively?
NDM not limited to VSM c, also you have to consedore the microcode on both storages!! LUN ID, serial number of the disks .... etc..... at the moment HDS support G1000 to G1000 NDM since the LUN ID will be virtual between the initiater and target,
sorry, but i can´t agree.
1. Supporting only NDM between VSP G1000 and VSP G1000 would be senseless.
2. Microcode of the box you want to migrate isn´t that important, because the machine is virtualized.
VSP G 1000 just emulates the external storage (in this case XP24K) by presenting same Type, S/N and Volume IDs to the servers.
So, the virtualized volumes seem to be the same as the physcale ones in the HP machine.
I´m afraid, you mix up the specs for NDM and GAD
don't worry.... but i have done virtulizationn and lun migration from xp to g1000 ....once you virtuliz the existing xp lun to g1000 then map it to the host trust me you have to reboot the host since the lun id will be charged...

NDM to G1000 is supported FROM the following Arrays: USP-V, USP-VM, VSP, HUS-VM, G1000.
G1000 to G1000 is supported in case you had a disaster and needed to replace an Array. For example if you had smoke damage, earthquake, etc.. Where the current G1000 remained up, but you wanted to migrate to a replacement array. This has happened to customers where an array is up and running, but has damage that makes continuing to run on it a risk. So the ability to NDM to a replacement array has some limited value (but nice to have if needed).
While it should be technically possible to NDM from XP to HDS, we do not support it.
Host based migration at the LVM level would be the best way to go for this at this time.
