Tuning Manager (HTnM) Architecture

Hi Experts,

Few dummy questions from me about HTnM architecture.

Let's say we have an enterprise storage. HTnM manager and HTnM RAID agent.

Command Device (CMD) is needed as we aware, so:

  1. RAID agent uses CMD to access and pull performance data from enterprise storage and then keep this data into the agent store. My understanding is, the data transmission at this stage is in-band (CMD), i.e within storage network only without stepping into LAN, am I right?
  2. When HTnM manager requests performance data from RAID agent, the communication and performance data return are all happening in LAN, am I right?

Thank you.

Swee Chin
