I need to connect Java application to HCP via HCP Rest API. I found many documentation but didn’t get which API we use for to connect via HCP rest.
You don't need to download it - it comes with HCP. If you have a properly configured HCP system you can start creating your application right away.
My advice is to join the The specified item was not found. group where you will find a lot of useful information, including sample code. Several examples:
REST Developer Guide
HCP REST Using Java and Best Practices
Using a Namespace
You use the API that is called exactly that: HCP REST API... unless you want to use HS3 (Amazon S3 compatible API) or OpenStack Swift compatible API that are also RESTful APIs. These are all configurable via the namespace Protocols page in the Tenant Management Console.
I didn't find the link to download HCP Rest API. could you please provide the same.
please correct ,me if i am wrong.
As i went through the documentation, we use Apache HTTP libraries interface in java code to connect to HCP device and perform the operations like put, delete. so I believe Apache HTTP API is termed as a Rest API.
At this point I'll need more details to be able to help you, since I'm not sure I'm following what you're trying to say. Specifically, what documentation you went through and the exact content that makes you think it's not REST API.
There has been some mixup - I was responding to your post with an earlier timestamp and different content: "As i went through the documentation, i found that there is no use of HCP Rest API. I believe it's use for HCP device installation and it don't use in Java Program to connect the HCP device and perform the operation". You probably edited your post and added some details.
I wouldn't call Apache HttpClient/HttpComponents modules that you're using to create an application an API. It's an implementation of an HTTP client (among other things), while the HCP REST interface we're talking about is the server-side API. You can use other client-side libraries to talk to the HCP REST API, such as libcurl from C or urllib or pycurl from Python.
Anyway, I wouldn't get stuck on terminology here. If you have the correct client library (and it seems that you do) and the REST API enabled on the HCP side, you can proceed with writing your application.
I need help on getting hds volume, disks, storage system, storage pools details using ApacheHttpClient. When I tried to get the details using following url
