As far as i know, VSP Gx00 support bidirectional port acted both Target and Initiator modes. but this features don't support in the VSP G1000.
I think that you shoud use dedicated port for each use if possible because initator and target Queue depth are different.

The ports are natively configured as both target and initiator.
when you connect them to a FC switch you will see both the target and initiator in the nameserver.
thus far I have not found a way to disable the port from being bidirectional.
There is not need to dedicate a port for a particular function. Of course performance needs should be considered to determine how many hosts/ arrays should be on a port.
but this is standard practice for all ports.
