Introduction
This blog shows how to install Hitachi Ops Center 10.9.2 using the Express Installer in a lab environment. Using the Express Installer greatly simplifies installing Ops Center on supported RedHat and Oracle Linux operating systems.
The Express installer media consists of the Hitachi Ops Center Server Express Installer media and the Hitachi Ops Center Client Express Installer media.
The Hitachi Ops Center Server Express Installer media includes the following products:
· Hitachi Ops Center Common Services
· Hitachi Ops Center Administrator
· Hitachi Ops Center API Configuration Manager
· Hitachi Ops Center Protector
· Hitachi Ops Center Automator
· Hitachi Ops Center Analyzer
· Hitachi Ops Center Analyzer detail view
· Hitachi Ops Center Viewpoint
The Hitachi Ops Center Client Express Installer media includes the following products:
· Hitachi Ops Center API Configuration Manager
· Hitachi Ops Center Protector Client
· Hitachi Ops Center Analyzer Probe Server
Advantages of using the Express Installer
· It’s simple and easy to use and saves time.
· It performs basic environment checks based on the system requirements for all Ops Center products before installation.
· It sets default values and settings for all Ops Center products during installation.
· It supports Ops Center Upgrades and Ops Center Viewpoint.
· The package required for installing Ops Center products installs automatically.
Installation Procedure
For installation, we used two Virtual Machine servers running Red Hat Linux 8.6 with Red Hat subscription management enabled.
Step 1: All prerequisites, including host file entries, were completed, and then the Ops Center software was downloaded to the two servers.
Step 2: In the first server, we mounted the software media and ran the server express installer to install all available products except for Analyzer viewpoint.
The installer requires that you enter the following information:
· Software to install.
· Environment size.
· Host name or IP address.
· Port number.
· Individual parameters for each product such as installation directory and so on.
After entering all the information, the installer displays the final settings as follows:
After reviewing and confirming the settings, the installation begins.
In the lab environment, the installation took approximately 22 minutes. Then, the installer confirmation messages were shown on the screen.
Then, we opened the Ops Center portal URL and installed the license for each product.
As you can see, the Ops Center products are now available for use.
Step 3: In the second server, we mounted the client express installer media and ran the client express installer to install the Analyzer Probe server.
The installer requires that you enter the following information:
· Client software to install.
· Individual parameters for each product such as Installation directory and so on.
After entering all the information, the installer displays the final settings. After reviewing and confirming the settings, the installation begins.
When the installation finished, the installer confirmation messages were shown on the screen.
Conclusion
In summary, users at all skill levels can install the Hitachi Ops Center suite using the Express Installer. It’s simple, efficient, and reliable!
