  • 1.  Add Probe for VMWare - Error

    Posted 02-06-2023 10:07
    Hi,

I run into this error , when I tried to add a probe for VMWare vCenter.

Unable to connect to vCenter server.Client received SOAP Fault from server: Permission to perform this operation was denied. Please see the server log to find more detail regarding exact cause of the failure.

    VMWare Version :  6.5
    OpsCenter Version : 10.9

    Any hints ?

    Regards
    Sven

    Hello Sven

Shooting in the dark here a bit. But maybe check and confirm if the MOB interface is up, running and available.

You can follow the following article:

    Hi William,

good shot - but the MOB service is up and running. I was able to login.

    I've found this article : https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/81799
But I can't apply all this workaround, when starting JDK / SDK / JVM. For me it sounds like I need to start the OpsCenter Probe application in combination with this settings.

I had a situation, trying to connect RVTools to vCenter, where I was told there was no response by vCenter to a SOAP request.  The message was not exactly the same, but then my vCenter was 7.0.2.  I'm sorry I no longer have the VMware support article references handy, but what solved my problem was to go into the VMSA management UI and start the Auto Deploy service.

If I can find those references in a reasonable amount of time, I'll post them here.
