  • 1.  Deleting the last DP-volume from Pools or Deleting the last volume from Parity Group

    Posted 01-28-2024 20:06

Hello. We've deleted all the virtual volumes and fat DP-Volumes, except the last one remaining DP-Vols in the DP-Pools or Parity Groups.  We can't delete them as it says - The shrinking operation cannot be performed on the specified pool the ratio of used capacity after shrinking becomes..........

What we did till now: First shrink the pool, by selecting the DP-Vols. Then deleted all the volumes , but not stuck with one volumes in each pool. Can't delete them.

So, how to delete the last volumes.  We want do remove everything and then re-start creating , starting with PGs.  Please advise. Best

We're able to delete all the DP-Vols, after changing few settings(threshold etc) of the Pools.  All good.

Hi Antonio.  Thanks. Yes, this is a perfectly made top-down approach. However, we had a little difference, as our DP-Pool-Vols were not mapped to servers, we instead had our V-volumes (Virtual volumes) mapped to host. Our DP-Pool Volumes were actually very huge in size and equal sized. And, from those, we in turn created V-vols. (May be just a naming thing here). Best
