  • 1.  HCP Cluster down

    Posted 21 days ago

    Hi All.

We have a cluster down and any attempt to get it up is failing.  Steps performed to resurrect the cluster are below.

    1. A soft reboot of each node  -- log in issue reboot
    2. Hard reboot was performed, and that was from the datacentre
    3. Hard reboot, including unplugging power cables
    4. Reboot cluster from GUI
    5. Rebooted cluster from the command line

I suspect the underlying cause of the issue is one of the filesystems on two of the four nodes is full therefore only 2 nodes are available and not failing.

Any suggestions how we can resolve this?  If we could add additional disk is it possible to extend the filesystem using admin jvm? any other suggestions how I might might find the exact cause of the cluster going down?

I spoke to a former colleague, he mentioned this has happened in the past.  This was resolved using data migrator from the command line however he can recall exactly how it was done.
We need to move data from /RIS/archive2 to another filesystem.

Anyone know how this is done?  Any help would be appreciated.

    This is a public community.

What you asked is only for HV HCP qualitied support people.

Never ever heard such a thing you ask and for sure it break HCP because you do the wrong things.

Moving data from appliance filesystem to another filesystem without letting HCP know .... How will you ever find this data ?

If you did already, you will encounter later the trouble you are in.

Do you have a case ?

Unfortunately not, this cluster is currently unsupported.

I wouldn't move data unless it was a documented procedure, I guess its not.  If we have to purchase additional disks and expand or some how balance the filesystems using available tools then great.

We have reached out to Hitachi to see if they can assist, either as a one off professional services task or add the HCP back on contract.

    Regards,
